Amiee Cantrell Bio

Amiee CantrellIt seemed only natural that Amiee Cantrell would gravitate towards a career in sports.  Raised on stories from her father about Oklahoma football and surrounded by ultra-runners from around the world, she loved nothing more than being a part of a team.

She participated on and off the field starting at age 5 by helping her mother at the post-race picnic for her father’s annual ultra-marathon, the Strolling Jim 40, missing only 1 for her sister’s college graduation.  She took a brief break from sports to earn her bachelor’s degree from MTSU and took a job as an administrative assistant at a local bank.  In 2009, she served as race director for the Strolling Jim, renewing her passion and decided to pursue her dream of working in athletics.

Currently, she is a graduate student at Belmont University working towards a Masters degree in Sports Administration and emphasizing her work in community relations with the goal of bringing communities an experience similar to the one from her father’s stories of living surrounded by members of the Oklahoma football team and the time they spent with him.  Contributing to the W.A.B. Sports Clinic allows her to bring this experience to children in multiple communities.
